One year ago yesterday, my brother came home.
One year ago today, I had to hear my brother slurr his words on drugs for the ten thousandth time.
One year ago today, I wished he didn’t exist.
One year ago tomorrow, I called my brother.
One year ago today, he answered by saying words I’ll never forget.“Carlee, I have a loaded gun to my head, and I’m going to do it.”
One year ago tomorrow, I pleaded with my brother to keep breathing.
One year later, I sit in the house that it happened.
… And he doesn’t exist.When I set out for the tattoo shop today, I had something completely different in mind. Something with vines and pretty lettering of my only sibling’s name. I decided against it, and instead had his own handwriting stitched into my skin. I figure, If I’m going to have anything, I want to have something he touched.
… Because that is what he did for me.
And after all, it’s his words that stick with me the closest.
My boyfriend Ryan is now my fiancé Ryan.

Congratulations!
My girlfriend and I are engaged to be engaged. :] We’ve only been together for seven months, so we don’t want to rush anything, especially during college.
I watch porn sometimes.
And I don’t really know how I feel about that.
Sometimes, I feel like I’m one of those people who only watches Nascar for the crashes, or hockey for the fights.
Other times, it’s like a train wreck - you don’t really want to know, but you can’t look away.
Even others, because I’m curious whether or not I still find heterosexual sex appealing.
The little feminist in me is being torn both ways. Just because I’m a woman, it shouldn’t be taboo for me to watch, but I also can’t handle how degrading it can be sometimes. Porn is one of the ultimate objectifications of women.
I wish this wasn’t so confusing.
Thoughts? Opinions?
In response to Sonya, it really depends. I don’t think it’s necessarily the man that I find attractive, but the concept of penetration, which I find just as attractive in female-female porn. Usually, I’m equally as intrigued as I am repulsed by the whole idea of watching other people have sex.
This woman right here is the best slam poet I’ve ever listened to.
Oh my God. By far. She came to my school with the rest of SaltLines and they did a writing workshop. I was one of barely ten kids that went. I almost peed when she hugged me goodbye after the workshop and performance. <3

Future
I just made a .txt document to keep on my desktop. It’s going to be filled with notes and such about things I want to remember for my future, no matter how distant.
I think it’s important to make an effort to remember things that I might enjoy or appreciate down the road.

I don’t know why, but this photo absolutely owned that search. All but three images on the first page were this photo, and it was also the only photo shown on the second page. Intense.
